Where to eat in February
Including last-minute Valentine's options
I can never quite decide where I stand on Valentine’s. I often feel it’s a corporate monstrosity we’ve inherited from America that makes us all feel largely inadequate and distinctly unromantic. But I can also see the positives. February is a month without much else to celebrate and it is a boon for restaurants and shop; so as long as you shop local, whether romance is in the air or not, our independent businesses will certainly feel loved. In this month’s round-up we’ve included places to go for a last minute February 14th table, and plenty of things to do if you’d rather just ignore the whole affair altogether.
But before we wade in — a favour. I’m being really grown up and actually writing a proper business plan for The Bristol Sauce, and getting some feedback from our readers will help enormously. Please will you show us a little bit of love and share your thoughts?
Thank you and a reminder - even if you’re more alone than you’d like to be this February - we love you. And we’re very, very grateful that you're here.
A one-off: Bertha’s Pizza Giro, Wapping Wharf
Not content with continuing to knock out the best Neapolitan pies in the south west, Bertha’s have announced the long-awaited return of their beloved giro. Competitive socialising via the medium of food, bring a team and out-shout neighbouring tables for the chance to try as many pizzas as possible, including never before seen experimental combinations. Don’t worry, though, you won’t leave hungry whatever happens.
