I've only been reading this substack recently. I've been a big fan of delicious food and eating out for a long time. I've been a coeliac for only a couple of years.

Coeliac disease took away from me one of the great pleasures of living in a city like Bristol - going out your front door and finding amazing food with very little planning needed.

So I was delighted to see this article. It saves me the research into cross contamination that I normally do before getting too excited about the restaurant I've just read about. And because the restaurants I know about are great, and there's new ones to explore. Thanks for putting it together.

To fellow coeliacs, I would struggle to recommend Gambas - theoretically they offer choice, but I had an appalling experience with their waiting staff point blank refusing to engage with conversations about allergies.

Ah I’m so glad to hear this. Sorry to hear about your experience at Gambas
